Take back your life decisions

I didn't expect to write about this accidental meeting, when it happened 24 hours earlier.

It is worth reading.

I was invited to a job & carrer trade fair to speak about how to market yourself to potential employers. 

After my speech I get down from the stage and moving to the technical advisor, to get rid of my headset microphone. When it was done, I realized one guy, about 25 years young, waiting for me.

He was obviously shy, because I stood away about five meters and was looking away from me. But he wanted to speak to me. You could feel that.

So walked up to him and asked: "Hi, how can I help you?"

This shy young boy started to lift his head with a light smile, when he started talking.

"Thank you for your speech. I liked it. I´ve just finished my study on physics, but I wonder if I should do something different with my life.
And I wanted to ask you, what do you think about it?"

He made me curious. "So what is this something different about?"

His eyes started to light up and I realized a change in his posture when he answered. 

"It is about producing music instruments.“

„How long do you have this on your mind?“  I wanted to know.

„For a very long time." 

„And how can I help you now? 

He looked at me with a question mark on his forehead and asked:
"You can tell me, if this is a good idea or not.“

„If you would be me and see you standing here, smiling and looking inspired, what would you answer? I asked him.

„I think, the time has come to go with it.“

„Here you go. The answer is already there. Maybe for years. But to recognize it, you have to start to believe in yourself. Listen to yourself. Take yourself seriously, like another special human being that you look up to."

His smile started to deepen. I went on.

„Do you want to have an idea, that s on my mind?“

„Yes please“ he answered with a curious look on his face.

„If you keep asking other people for permission to do something, your life always depens on other peoples moods, experiences and other peoples choices. 

Nice people ask for permission. Good people listen to advice and try.
Brave people give permission by themselves.

I call these brave human beings THE TRUEYOU people.

• The Trueyou is independent from other peoples choices.
• The Trueyou already knows the answer to their own questions.
• The Trueyou is making the difference in their own and other peoples lives.

So next time you struggle with something in your life or business, get back to this question:

How do you want to approach personal challenges?

Do you want to be a nice person? A good person?
Or are you that brave human being which is called THE TRUEYOU Person?

When our eyes met, i knew what type of person he decided on.
We shook hands and he walked away with a warm and fullfilled smile on his face.
